Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on company-owned trucks and trailers, including engine diagnostics, brake inspections, and suspension repairs.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to identify and address any mechanical issues.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical problems using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Complete repairs in a timely manner to minimize downtime and ensure fleet readiness.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs performed.
- Assist with scheduling and coordinating preventative maintenance tasks.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient operation of the maintenance department.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while working in the shop.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a mechanic, with specific experience in diesel engines and heavy-duty trucks/trailers.
- Certification or technical training in diesel mechanics or a related field is preferred.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
